Profile of P.S. Sankaran (GE64 – Mechanical)

Profile of P.S. Sankaran (GE64 – Mechanical)

I was born and raised in Perumalagaram, near Thiruvarur, Tamil Nadu, the youngest of a large family.
Attended High School in nearby town of Koradacheri.
PUC from Loyola College, Chennai, before moving on to Engineering at Guindy.

Married Meenakshi in May, 1966. Worked for Enfield India at Chennai and MICO, Bangalore, before traveling to the U.S. in January, 1976. Received M.S degree in Industrial Engineering from Lamar University in Texas.

My working career in the U.S. spans about 31 years and includes engineering positions in American Bosch, Dresser Industries, Cummins Engine Company and my current position of Standards Engineer at Case New Holland (CNH) near Chicago. I have held such positions as Manufacturing Engineer, Project Engineer, Manager of New Product Development and CAD/CAM Specialist. I am planning to retire and hang my hat sometime in the near future.

Meena and I have two daughters, Chitra and Gayathri, living in Atlanta and Denver respectively. We are also blessed to have a granddaughter and a grandson who are nine and six years of age.

My primary interest - rather a passion - in life is South Indian Classical Music. Age has diminished my capacity to sing, but I still can put up a decent show - sometimes.
